Last summer, New Jersey implemented several policies and protections for LGBTQ+ students in the state's 593 public school districts. Since then, reactionary and religious conservatives have been disrupting public meetings and attempting to take over local school boards. Citing “Parental Rights”, their goal is to roll back these changes so that they can discriminate against gay and transgender students.
